DAIS
Chair
Jimmy Ma
Attending Grade 11 at Port Moody Secondary, Jimmy is enthusiastic to serve as the Chair of APEC at CYDCMUN 2019. Since being introduced to Model United Nations in his Grade 9 year, Jimmy has developed an obsession for it. To Jimmy, MUN is not simply another extra-curricular. It has encouraged him to hone his public speaking abilities, researching skills, and has made him become an informed global citizen. Outside of MUN, he can be found dancing to K-Pop songs, impulsively buying things, clarifying his ethnicity, and emptying his wallet on food. Jimmy is excited for this opportunity to witness an unforgettable conference.
Director
Nick Liu
Nick is currently a sophomore at Fraser Heights Secondary and is honored to be serving as the Director of APEC at CYDCMUN 2019. Ever since raising his first placard in grade 9, he’s become entranced by the nuanced debate that only Model United Nations can generate. Through MUN, Nick has not only created amazing friendships, but opened himself up to a world of quick debate and diplomacy. In his spare time, you can find Nick cramming his debate cases last minute, drinking an unhealthy amount of bubble tea, and watching motivational videos to stop procrastinating but realizing that it was procrastination all along. Nick looks forward to creating a memorable experience for all delegates at CYDCMUN 2019. Cheers!

Through MUN, Joseph finds that he has been able to have a greater understanding of the world as a whole, while also befriending like-minded students. In his spare time, you can find him practising the piano, cello, playing volleyball, binge-watching Netflix and K-Dramas, cooking or volunteering. Joseph looks forward to creating a memorable experience while making new friends!
