Fullsend Change

platform

Under the sole idea of fullsending change, there are three pillars; building community, advancing advocacy, and maintaining a vision. These ideas are fundamental to transforming PA's culture.

Community

Buiding a strong community is foundational to student life. Along with making school a more enjoyable place, a strong community creates the potential for an unstoppable culture of being restorers.

The Issue

Social segmentation and disinterest

Building community is a communal effort. Having social segmentation is only natural and it has its benefits. However, it has the danger to tip to become more divisive. A balance is needed so that as a baseline, students are comfortable with each other.

The Goal

Create interest

In order to have students want a stronger community, we hold special days, planned by the Student Life team. Holding special days that interest the students would build community more efficiently.

What I'll Do

Become an intermediary

I'll either act as or instate a system where there is communication between the student body and the Student Life team. The current way Student Life hosts special days is by assuming what the grade wants. They are successful in doing so to the extent the events interest some if not the majority. However, with more ideas flowing in, there can be even more success.

Advocacy

Advocacy is a necessary component of a healthy student culture. If there are barriers in place of opportunities for students to grow and develop, they must be addressed.

The Issue

Barriers

There are certain school regulations imposed that have not been beneficial to the students, such as the ban on service clubs. This hinders students' ability to connect beyond PA and to take service initiatives outside of PA

The Goal

Eradicate the barriers

Getting rid of barriers, regulations or bans that are unhelpful to the students.

What I'll Do

Advocate for you

If you bring up an issue, we'll discuss about it; get to the bottom of it; ask questions about it; and come up with possible solutions. Then, in the meetings with the admin team, I'll bring up what we discussed about.

Lift the Ban or find alternatives

If elected, I will talk with the students to get a better idea of the impact the ban on service clubs has had on them. Then, with the opportunity to speak with the admin team, bring up the issue and attempt to lift this ban.

Vision

Vision is important in maintaining perspective of student life in the grand scheme of things: life. The purpose of a vision is to prepare for outside of high school in building leaders that continue to be restorers.

The Issue

Lack of internal toughness

Often times, we students get too caught up in high school, failing to see what lies outside or after it. This makes us get upset about the little details, like getting a 'low' mark on a test.

The Goal

God-Derived vision-driven students

Don't sweat the small stuff. Not only understand, but have it revealed to us individually the unique plan He has for us through prayer.

"Why vote for you?"

Good question. Here's why:

Experience

I'm experienced in Debate, Public Speaking, Model UN, and other activities that have refined my ability to be a communicator and problem solver.

I've been to numerous debate tournaments in the states and in Canada. Some notable ones are: Puget Sound in 2019, a national tournament where I placed top 8 in novice division; Pacific Lutheran University, where I placed third in SPAR, a public speaking event where two people debate after one minute of prep; Puget Sound University in 2019, where we placed top 16 in the open division, and Stanford University where I placed top 16. Debate has helped me with critical thinking and articulating ideas.

Experience in Model United Nations has also helped me be an effective communicator and problem solve. Being on the secretariat team of PacificMUN 2019 (one of the three first sophmores that held this position), I helped with the creation of the conference that hosted over 500 people on February 22nd, 2019.

Passion

In all honesty, I've never been so passionate about something related to school before the PA Senate. This passion allows me to work super hard and not get discouraged when there are set backs. Ultimately, this passion allows me to be an effective advocate by actually engendering change.
